這是Jon Muth開始受到大家關注的一本書，由俄國小說家托爾斯泰原著的"The Three Questions"改編而來，一些角色用動物擬人化來處理。When is the best time to do things?

Redheaded Robbie's Christmas Story
Robbie緊張時總是口吃，而且說的是一連串別人聽不懂的話，沒想到被抽中要在耶誕節的集會上表演。這下可好了，平常還有同學可以解圍，演講時怎麼辦？準備內容已經很傷腦筋了，A朋友說"就想個故事說禮物很多很多，拆了兩天才拆完"
Robbie說"耶誕節時不是只有收禮物，是送禮物給比我們更需要的人"
B說"一個很酷的女孩的party，如何？"
Robbie:"不是裝酷的時候，是對新的或是害羞的人要和善一點"
C說"有個小孩的拐杖糖被妹妹折斷了，所以他把她的禮物藏起來，這樣的故事呢？"
Robbie:"耶誕節不是報復，是寬恕"
表演到了，從五年級開始，耶誕老人的鬍子掉下來了；四年級的獨奏吉他掉了好幾次；三年級跳舞的也跌倒幾次；輪到二年級的Robbie，他的故事是一片雪花以為自己是葡萄乾，但是看到一片烏壓壓的觀眾，他又緊張到只能發出咒語一般的聲音，
Wubby Waisin, 大家開始微笑，
Gleapin gloppin glope, 竊笑
Shamina mina flanket, 大笑
完了，他已經用手遮住眼睛要哭了，
這時A同學上台牽著他的手幫他說故事，因為有個天使說耶誕節是要照顧需要的人，所以他要求爸媽送禮物到收容所，這才是Robbie的故事；接著B同學也上去了，天使對她說要對他人友善體貼，變成好朋友，這才是Robbie的故事；…
Robbie得到熱烈的掌聲，老師也留下感動的眼淚，與大家分享這段小朋友感人的心情：
Give before you take.
Show kindness to someone new.
Forgive a person who has hurt you.
最後Robbie鞠躬謝謝大家

The Three Little Pigs, by Jean Claverie
這是某年台北國際書展時，硬是和North-South Books的攤位買回來的，她們看著我拖著"三隻小豬"逛書攤，一時不忍，就決定賣我了。這原先是法文版，由Elizabeth Crawford翻譯成英文。最後三隻小豬都搬到最堅固的房子一起住，並且將媽媽接來一起住，很類近華人的傳統。

Jonah Winter
Oct. 2009的Book Links 有Jonah Winter的專訪：為兒童圖畫書寫作傳記之前，他做過很多事，搖滾樂團、送花小弟、養駝馬的人，直到1991年他的母親Jeanette Winter邀請他合作一本圖畫書，Diego，之後他寫了15本傳記類的圖畫書。
從他的書看起來，範圍非常廣，但是每位主角都具時代代表性。
最新的作品Peaceful Heros囊括了14位為和平努力的英雄，也是一本傳記類的作品，從耶穌到911為救人犧牲的消防隊員，七位男性與七位女性。從各種角度出發，有宗教的，也有地方色彩的，用意在將和平植入孩子心中，讓年輕一代發揚，願意拯救世界，因為核武、槍枝暴力事件，每個人的道德勇氣需要提升。
Jonah Winter: 寫作的過程，需要閱讀很多很多，或從網路上搜尋資料，自我消化完成，在思索如何用最簡短的句子表達。
這些都因為他曾被訓練成為詩人，精簡的句子對寫作是必須。
如果這樣在回頭看他如何精簡地寫傳記，就有原可循了。
Jeanette Winter & Jonah Winter
RS在horn Book Magazine裡稱她為master，還下跪式地請她簽書，雖說RS有點搞笑，但是Jeanette 的確得到專家們的推崇。
她針對弱勢、被遺忘的、人物、或是時事所做的圖畫書，或是與專寫傳記的兒子Jonah Winter合作的圖畫書，書本身就像能大聲發言似地。
